As You Like It

The sound board can be made of either Honduran Mahogany or Western Red Ceder. I use Poplar for the back. The pin blocks are laminated Hard Maple. The top and bottom rails can be the wood of your choice (provided I can obtain it). I have used quarter-sawn White Oak, Walnut, Birdseye Maple and Cherry.

The course spacing and number of strings per course is up to you. 1" is my usual spacing but 1 1/16" is also popular.

The bridges are made of Rosewood or Maple. The scale marks are usually contrasting Maple or Walnut. But again, it's up to you.

Almost every thing is negotiable except the pin blocks. I insist these be laminated Maple. Unless you have a very strong argument for something else.
