Traditional Style

This is the design that has been used for years for floating sound board instruments. Note that the sound slots at the top and bottom of the dulcimer are in the same plane as the sound board.



Contemporary Style

Contemporary Style

The Contemporary case has the sound slots in the top and bottom rails, under the floating sound board. This makes the instrument narrower from top to bottom and a few ounces lighter.
